Jaguar F-Type Project 7

Jaguar has one of the most famous racing pedigrees of automative manufacturer history – so, it’s only fitting they give us something true to their roots: the F-Type Project 7.

We took a visit to Prestige Jaguar of Paramus to see what that was all about. Reminiscent of Jaguar’s D-Type race car, the F-Type Project 7 has the same tail fin that adorned the car that won the 1955 and 1956 Le Mans races.

Limited to only 250 units (and only 50 in the US), the F-Type Project 7 features the same 5.0-liter supercharged V8 from the regular F-Type, though this one has a bit of a power boost to the tune of 575 hp. That makes it the most powerful and fastest production car Jaguar has offered. Other accoutrements include carbon-ceramic brakes and a fixed rear spoiler. Check out Jaguar’s video above and make sure you turn up that volume!

Quick Facts:

Price: $165,995

Powertrain: 5.0-liter supercharged V-8, 575 hp, 516 lb-ft; RWD, 8-speed automatic

Weight: 3550 lb

The Superbowl Commercials — Our Top Picks

What a game last night!! For some people, however, the commercials were more attention-grabbing. In fact, in a 2011 study done by the Retail Advertising and Marketing Association (RAMA), over 25% of people said that the most important part of the Super Bowl are the infamous commercials. (At $4 million for a 30-sec. spot, these commercials had better be good, right?) Here’s our ranking of the top 3 automotive Super Bowl commercials (and the rest of them for your viewing pleasure). What was your favorite commercial from last night’s Big Game? Let us know in the comments below or tell us on Twitter (@autocracyblog).

1. Kia K900 (“The Truth”)

What could be better than Morpheus singing Nessun Dorma? Kia gets in the game, big time, with this commercial for the all-new premium luxury sedan from Kia and asks people to “Challenge the luxury you know™”. Honestly, one of the best commercials of the night, hands down.

2. Toyota Highlander (“Terry Crews and the Muppets”)

There’s no room for boring with Toyota’s commercial for the all-new Highlander. Featuring Terry Crews and the Muppets, it gets you laughing.

3. Jaguar F-Type Coupe (“Rendezvous”)

Getting three British powerhouses — The Avengers’ Loki, Iron Man’s Trevor Slattery, and Green Lantern’s Sinestro — Jaguar proves it’s #GoodToBeBad.

Chevy – “Life” || Jeep – “Restless” || Volkswagen – “Wings” || Maserati – “Strike”
